Barcelona and other things that start with “B”

There are a couple of things I forgot to mention. The first is that I went to Barcelona in May and have been hoarding a bunch of photos since then.

Hubs had a work trip to the vibrant Spanish city and–true to Bethy form–I happily tagged along. I had a couple of days on my own to tour, meeting up with hubs and his coworkers in the evenings for splendid meals of paella and tapas.

Oh, so many tapas (see above photo).

The trip was amazing. I especially enjoyed touring the Palau de la Musica Catalana (a stunning concert hall) and the hop-on/hop-off bus tour. Yes, I know that’s quite touristy of me, but it’s a great deal for getting around the city, especially when you’re on your own.

I had been to Barcelona once before in college. I have fond memories of that trip, too, though I remember it being short and me being broke.

This trip to Barcelona was a little different, too, actually. Sadly, I couldn’t enjoy too much Spanish wine. And my appetite was kind of all over the place, though churros con chocolate and croissants were always a big hit with my unsettled stomach.

Why all the weirdness? Well, that’d be due to the other “B” word…

…BABY.

That’s right. Baby Hardeman is happening January 2015! Hubs and I are very excited about raising our first San Francisco kid.

Watch out, world, here comes another karaoke star.

{Babby’s–not a typo–first picture is already outdated. I’m at 13 weeks and getting fatter by the minute!}

  1. Tia Helen says:

    Woo-hoo! The grandparents Hardeman shared and we could see them floating on air all the way here in Guatemala. So happy for you. Big new adventure. So this week is Becca’s due date which probably means nothing! Just 6 months apart. Fun cousins. Love to you three.
