Why (and what) I’m blogging again

Blogging seems like a luxury now, especially blogging about the clothes I wear. But I’ve missed it. I’ve talked before about how I long for creativity in my life–some outlet that would encourage me to write, make music, create. I thought it needed to be something grand to matter.

A Blog’s Best Friend: Menswear Dog

I love following style blogs. Of course, I stick to the usual culprits–Kendi Everyday, A Beautiful Mess and Atlantic-Pacific–but I also enjoy the occasional tongue-in-cheek style blog. This week, I stumbled upon one such blog: Menswear Dog. I’ll keep this short. It’s a menswear blog. With dogs. In menswear clothing. Enjoy! Image via Menswear Dog

    Team USA Colors

Gap top, jeggings, scarf and bracelet; Old Navy booties Who needs Photoshop? I stumbled upon this article from IFB, all about (free) in-browser photo editing tools. Look at how much awesomer my photos look after using Pixlr’s O-matic tool? (I used the “Peter” filter, in case you were interested.) On to the Olympics! You already know how in love with them I am. Now I just can’t seem to stop finding red, white and blue combinations in my wardrobe. By the way, have you see that P&G Olympics commercial about moms? Yeah, it’ll make you cry. (That’s not the exact one that’s airing frequently, but it’s still so sweet.) The…

    Hello there, long lost friend.

Whoa. It’s been a while, eh? Sorry for the lack of communication, friends. Since we’ve been apart I’ve: Found a love for audiobooks. Finished “The Help,” “Night Circus,” “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” (wasn’t a huge fan) and now I’m on to Stephen King’s “11/22/63.” Listening to novels is a great way to pass the time walking to work. Been slacking off on my workouts. (So sue me. I’m working on it.) Watched “Titanic” all over again. In 3D. (Don’t hate.) Started a new blog. See what I did there? I snuck it in. I’m a sneaky one. The new blog, Learning Curd, is about–you guessed it–CHEESE. I’ve fallen in…

    The Business of Busyness

Oh, hai! It’s nice to see y’all. As you can imagine from my absence and lack of posting, I’ve been a busy Betty (er, Bethy). But sometimes busyness can be a good thing. For instance, I’ve been busy visiting with friends who came to town, playing music with Christi, and working on my new blog project. Oh, no she didn’t! Oh, yes she did. I’m working on a fun new project, something that’s completely unrelated to fashion and a nice little side project on which I can focus my online energies. This blog’s been nice, but I need something different. Don’t worry, I’ll still blog here, but it won’t be…

    Inspiration: Favorite bloggers of 2011

I love my blog-browsing time (which seems to be whenever I have a spare moment on the internet, except while I’m at work). Most of the blogs I browse are style-oriented, and I thought I’d give a few of my faves a little shout-out. Thanks for your inspiration! A Pretty Penny: Not only is Keira lovely, but she puts together the most effortlessly cool outfits. I always notice her colorful lipstick and nail polish. She’s my feminine style inspiration. Blue Collar Catwalk: Kyla is an adventurous dresser and person, with her kooky cool style and roller derby hobby. And she has the most adorable dog in the blogosphere. She’s my…

    Friday Goods

Yes, I’m a little behind on posting. This was from last Friday. But I’m assuming you’ll forgive me. Has anyone been in Old Navy lately? Because it is looking good! Really. The “Favorite Looks” section on OldNavy.com says it all: some really great looking pieces for late summer and fall. I can’t wait to show you the pieces I snagged this weekend. (Don’t worry, it was all in the budget!) Speaking of Old Navy, yes, these photos were taken in the Market Street Old Navy fitting rooms. I’m a weird one. And you know what? Most of the outfit was Old Navy (stuff that I own and just happened to…
